The Chinyero MTB/Gravel tour offers it all: 40 kilometers through the unique pine forest landscape around Teide National Park. We begin with a convenient pickup from your hotel or the Las Americas bike shop, followed by a 30-minute van transfer to the Chio area, where the ride begins with a challenging 6-kilometer climb through the woods on rocky terrain. This leads to the initial volcanic area of the ride, offering a spectacular view of Mount Teide and the “Old Peak.”

After capturing some obligatory photos, we enjoy a thrilling descent through the forest, featuring fast corners, small jumps, and tricky sections with a spectacular view of the north coast and Mount Teide. The last 15 kilometers take us to the unique area of the Chinyero volcano, known for its 1909 eruption, and its striking black gravel expanse—the ride’s ultimate goal. After this, we ride to a traditional old farmhouse turned hotel for a break and traditional Canarian dishes.

The tour concludes with the last 8 kilometers through the river of hardened lava and the forest, followed by a 2-kilometer climb back to the starting point. Our van then takes us back to the southern area.
