This tour will take us to the spectacular rural area of Anaga, situated above Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife. The group will embark on a one-hour van journey from the southern region to the north, with the ride scheduled to commence at approximately 10:30 in the morning. We’ll begin with a warm-up along the city’s coastline and harbor area, covering a distance of about 15 km. As we approach the breathtaking beachside of La Teresita, we’ll initiate a challenging climb that will lead us along smooth and winding roads through the lush mountains overlooking the ocean.
Fast-moving clouds and radiant sun rays will create a truly awe-inspiring atmosphere during our ascent to el Bailadero viewpoint. From this vantage point, we’ll be treated to a spectacular view of both coastlines. We’ll linger at the crest for a few kilometers to revel in the unique forest of Laurisilva, before reaching the extreme northern side of the island. Continuing along the crest, we’ll eventually arrive at the famous Pico del Inglés for an incredible downhill ride to the coast. We’ll then embark on another climb to the highest road, which will swiftly lead us down to La Laguna.
From there, we’ll ride through the urban area until we return to our starting point, where the van will transport us back to the southern region.
After a well-deserved recovery break at the traditional mountain bar “La Paz,” we’ll be prepared for the main event: a 12-kilometer uphill climb through a breathtaking forest, surrounded by a fantastic smooth road that takes us to the ride’s highest point at 2,150 meters.
Once we’ve completed this part of the journey and taken the customary photo, we’ll begin our descent through the mythical Teide National Park, with its characteristic volcanic plateau. Here, we’ll witness the majestic view of the Peak of Teide. Finally, we’ll start a long 30-kilometer descent to Chio, where we’ll have one last coffee break at the famous Cycling Bar Parada before continuing downhill to Las Americas, concluding our long ride.
